Job Description

A Civil Work Mentor guides students and learners in understanding practical and theoretical aspects of civil engineering and construction work. The mentor provides training in construction techniques, site management, estimation, building materials, drawings, measurements, and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

Teach fundamentals of civil engineering and construction work.
Explain building construction methods, materials, and tools.
Train learners in reading and understanding civil drawings and plans.
Guide students on quantity estimation, measurements, and basic costing.
Provide practical knowledge of site supervision and construction processes.
Explain basic concepts of RCC, brickwork, plastering, flooring, and finishing.
Teach basic AutoCAD/civil drawing concepts where applicable.
Educate learners about construction safety and quality standards.
Conduct practical assignments, demonstrations, and project-based learning.
Mentor learners and help them prepare for civil work-related jobs and projects.

Ideal Mentor Profile:

Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering or relevant practical experience.
Knowledge of construction and civil site practices.
Good communication and teaching skills.
Practical experience in residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
Ability to explain technical concepts in a simple and practical manner.

Responsibilities

Teach fundamental concepts of civil engineering and construction work.
Provide practical training in building construction techniques.
Explain civil drawings, plans, measurements, and site layouts.
Guide students in quantity estimation and basic project costing.
Train learners in brickwork, RCC, plastering, flooring, and finishing work.
Explain the use of construction materials, tools, and equipment.
Provide guidance on site supervision and quality control.
Teach basic construction safety rules and best practices.
Conduct practical demonstrations, assignments, and project activities.
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
Help learners develop practical skills for civil construction jobs.
Stay updated with modern construction methods, materials, and industry practices.

Requirements

Diploma or B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering or a related field.
Practical knowledge of civil construction and site work.
Experience in building construction, site supervision, or project execution is preferred.
Good understanding of civil drawings, measurements, estimation, and costing.
Knowledge of construction materials, tools, and techniques.
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and other civil engineering software is an advantage.
Strong communication and teaching skills.
Ability to explain technical concepts in a simple and practical manner.
Good problem-solving and mentoring abilities.
Knowledge of construction safety standards and quality practices.
Relevant industry experience will be an added advantage.
